Lake Tarawera Party Hunt

We’re opening registrations for a Lake Tarawera hunt running from Sat 26^th to Tues 29^th September. This trip is boat‑access only, and will be camping at Hot Water Beach on the lake edge.  We’ll be ferrying everyone across, so please pack reasonably light to make the crossings smooth.  If you’d prefer to bring your own boat, that’s all good too!

Hot Water Beach sits inside the Lake Tarawera Scenic Reserve, surrounded by classic Tarawera bush – podocarp, fern gullies, and open pockets that make for good stalking. The area holds red deer, pigs, and wallabies, and there’s also excellent trout fishing if you want to bring a rod.

Once selected, you’ll need to book your own campsite through DOC. Brian Sims will be leading this one & will be taking the boys, so feel free to get the kids and partner involved if they are club members.   The NZDA hunt cost for this event is $30 per person.
