Michael McCormack is a keen outdoors man and gatherer. Brought up in Hawke's Bay on duck hunting, deer stalking and fly fishing he learnt the ropes at an early age which continued during his Uni years down in Otago chasing game. After 2 years of work and travel around the UK/Europe and a move back to Auckland he started documenting more of his hunting and gathering adventures on social media and YouTube under the name 'Chase and Gather.'

The videos and content are a collection of hunting trips in the North Island (ducks and deer predominantly) along with some fitness conditioning programs and the odd 'how to' video on things such as deer skins and sausage making. Underpinning all of this his background in Physical Education from Otago Uni has meant a fitness mindset is always on the cards and applying that to the hunting context has been a straightforward crossover.

You find out more about Michael's adventures on his facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/chaseandgather/

Michael is writing a series of fitness related articles for NZ Hunter and by day you can find him motivating and helping people achieve their fitness goals via his personal training business, RedefineU:   https://www.redefinedu.co.nz/

See you all there!

As well as been such a passionate and dedicated hunter, we are very lucky to have Michael as a recent member of the branch, if you are or know of interesting speakers - We are in the process of finalizing the guest speakers for this year. So if you know anyone who has a good yarn please contact the committee at our email address auckland@deerstalkers.co.nz.
