We are certainly running on all cylinders at the moment as we head into the build up for the AGM, Annual dinner and National Conference. Some great heads and photos are in and our volunteer team have been doing an amazing job working through all the entries. The club rooms have had a little bit of a makeover, my they do look impressive! Our June Club Night see guest Pete Mountney joining us who will cover the important things you need to know to stay alive in and out of the bush. Pete has over 30 years experience within Trauma, both in hospitals and also whilst serving as a Combat Medic in the UK military, and holds New Zealand’s highest certificate in Resuscitation and First Aid. He has taught all levels of first aid over that time, and has a passion for busting the myths around these topics, and there are quite a few of those... He will talk about the “reality of hunting injuries" and which are the commonest. There will also be an open Q and A session relating to First Aid, where he will also bring along his “hunting” first aid kit to show how little and light, life saving equipment can be. Note to Members: if you can please register for the event prior to the club night, it makes drawing prizes so much easier, who doesn't like prizes? You will need to be logged in to register. *Prizes are members only. Notes to Guests, or guests of members: Our club nights are open to the public, this is a great opportunity to experience the club and see if you want to be part of the Auckland Deerstalkers community. Please come along and introduce yourself to one of the clubs committee on the night. If you know anyone who has a good yarn or would make for an interesting guest speaker please contact the committee at our email address auckland@deerstalkers.co.nz.
